How to Restart Garbage Collection in Palm Beach Before Your Seasonal Return

Restart Palm Beach garbage and recycling before your seasonal return with a saved request, confirmed pickup dates and a checklist for your local representative.

Before your Palm Beach home is cleaned and your refrigerator is stocked, give waste collection its own arrival handoff. Submit your restart request, save a copy, confirm the first garbage and recycling dates for your address, and name the person who will verify each pickup. A submitted form records your request; it does not establish that collection has resumed.

Does your Palm Beach address use the Town’s collection service?

Confirm who handles collection at your residence before requesting a restart. Whether your Palm Beach home is in the North End, Estate Section or South End, use the complete street address when checking with Public Works.

If you return to a condominium, ask your building manager whether collection is arranged for the building before submitting an individual request. Keep the confirmed provider and collection arrangement in your arrival notes.

How do you request a garbage and recycling restart?

Open the Town’s Start/Stop Garbage & Recycling Pickup Form, select START and complete the required fields. As of September 2026, the live form uses a single date field labeled “Desired Start/Stop Date.”

Choose your desired restart date with any cleaning or preparation before your arrival in mind. Request an emailed copy, save it with your arrival records, and record the submission date.

The Town notice and restart form reviewed for this article publish no restart-processing deadline. Follow up for confirmation before relying on collection.

How do you confirm your first garbage and recycling pickup dates?

Contact Public Works with your address, requested start date and submission date. Ask whether the restart has been recorded, then request the first scheduled garbage date and the first scheduled recycling date. Ask about any schedule changes affecting your return week and confirm the collection location and access arrangements for your residence.

As of September 2026, the Town’s collection schedule lists five weekday service days for single-family residents: four garbage days and one recycling day. Record actual calendar dates for your address rather than assuming both waste types will leave together.

Save the reply. For a telephone confirmation, note the date, the person you spoke with and the dates provided.

The Town of Palm Beach’s restart form requires four contact details: name, Palm Beach address, phone number and email. You select START or STOP and enter one desired service date. An emailed copy is optional. Questions go to Public Works at 561-838-5440 or pworks@townofpalmbeach.com. Source: Town restart form.

What should you check before cleaning and kitchen stocking?

Use the following owner/representative checklist to connect the municipal request with the work happening at your home. Keep one shared record so your cleaner, arrival coordinator and pickup verifier work from the same information.

Handoff itemWhat to record
Restart submissionDate submitted and desired start date
Saved form copyLocation of the emailed copy or saved submission
Public Works confirmationDate, method and details of the response; mark pending until received
First garbage pickupConfirmed calendar date
First recycling pickupConfirmed calendar date
Responsible personName, contact details and when they will check
Collection outcomeSeparate garbage and recycling results, with date checked
Follow-upReport submitted, Town response and next action if needed

Before preparation begins, have your representative check that containers are available, the agreed collection area is accessible, and everyone knows where to place each waste type.

Plan cleaning waste and grocery packaging around the confirmed dates. If confirmation remains pending, agree on a temporary waste-handling plan with your representative before work begins. Close the garbage and recycling entries separately: an emptied garbage container does not confirm a recycling pickup.

What should you do if your first scheduled collection is missed?

Have your designated person check after the scheduled collection day and record what remains, including the waste type and date. First establish that collection was scheduled for your address; an unconfirmed restart still needs a Public Works follow-up.

For a missed scheduled pickup, complete the Town’s missed-collection form and retain a copy. Add the report to your handoff record, contact Public Works about the next step, and assign the follow-up check. Keep the outcome open until collection is verified.
