La Cornue Recall 2026: Your South Florida Repair Handoff While Away

Manage your La Cornue or AGA recall repair while away from South Florida, with a clear handoff for gas-supply status, service access, documentation, and lockup.

If your South Florida home has a potentially recalled La Cornue or AGA range, your absence makes a clear handoff essential. You need immediate-action confirmation, appliance identification, an adult at the appointment, and the technician’s written findings. Use the blank handoff sheet below to keep those responsibilities together—and to distinguish a scheduled visit from a completed repair.

Which La Cornue CornuFé and AGA ranges are recalled?

According to CPSC recall 26-756, announced September 10, 2026, the six listed model codes are La Cornue CornuFé LAC9/LAC1, AGA Elise AEL361DF/AEL481DF and Mercury AMC36DF/AMC48DF, manufactured March 19, 2025–July 24, 2026. If your model matches, use the manufacturer’s model-and-serial lookup to establish whether your particular range is included. Appearance alone cannot establish recall eligibility.

CPSC identifies the hazard as a potentially missing gas test-port cap, which can allow a gas leak and create a risk of fire or explosion. The recall includes all colors, trim options, and natural-gas or LP versions within its scope.

Follow the immediate gas-supply instructions

For the 6 model codes listed in their recall notices, La Cornue and AGA instruct you to shut off the range’s gas supply immediately if affected or if its serial number cannot be determined. Their instructions allow electric-oven use only; your South Florida return date does not alter that timing.

Make this the first item in your local handoff. Record who confirmed the instructed shutoff and when. A request sent to your representative is still pending until completion is confirmed.

If your representative cannot safely carry out the instruction, seek immediate assistance from your gas provider or an appropriate qualified professional. Keep everyone with kitchen access informed of the restriction, including household staff and visiting family. An unknown serial number should remain an unresolved recall status, never an assumed exemption.

Open your manufacturer case and record the appliance identification

CPSC locates the rating plate on the bottom panel beneath the storage drawer. Ask for a readable photograph and a transcription of the complete model and serial numbers. Save the lookup result with its date.

If the serial number cannot be found or the drawer cannot be removed, the manufacturer’s recall instructions direct you to call for assistance. Both La Cornue and AGA describe arranging an authorized-provider visit at no cost if customer service cannot resolve identification.

Manufacturer recall line: 888-257-7912. As of September 2026, CPSC lists telephone hours as Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Eastern, and identifies the recall inspection and repair as free.

Have your property address, contact details, and available appliance identification ready. Request a case number and record the assigned service company, scheduling contact, and next action. Keep the case correspondence in the same record as the photographs.

Name your adult representative and backup

La Cornue and AGA require an adult aged 18 or older to attend the recall repair and estimate approximately 60 minutes for the work. If you are away from South Florida, name your representative and confirm the arrival window separately. The repair-duration estimate does not tell you when the technician will arrive.

Choose a primary representative and a backup who can cover the appointment through departure. Give the service company their names and mobile numbers, and confirm its requirements for owner authorization.

Specify who receives delay calls and who contacts you if additional approval is requested. Include your time zone and an alternate decision-maker if you will be flying or offshore.

Prepare access, approvals, and one handoff sheet

For your home in Las Olas Isles, Harbor Beach, or Rio Vista—communities within Black Tie White Glove’s Fort Lauderdale service area—write down the actual entrance and service route. Where gate or building staff control entry, confirm the admission procedure before appointment day.

Arrange clear kitchen access, secure pets, and identify any floor-protection requests for the service company. Let the technician determine any necessary appliance movement.

Copy this blank checklist into one shared record. Mark an item complete only when its supporting information is attached.

Collect the technician’s report and confirm final lockup

The manufacturer’s recall procedure calls for an authorized service provider to inspect the range, install a test-port cap if missing, and confirm that gas is not leaking from that port. AGA publishes the same repair sequence.

Ask your representative to obtain the technician’s findings and explicit instructions about appliance use before departure. Attribute those conclusions to the authorized provider in your owner update.

If the visit is incomplete or return-to-use instructions are unclear, record the open issue, responsible contact, and follow-up date. Do not describe the recall as resolved simply because someone attended.

Finally, document property security separately from appliance status. Confirm the agreed lockup checks, alarm setting, and handling of temporary access. Your update should make both outcomes clear: what the technician reported and how the home was left.
